| Things To Know: * If you have quit or were dismissed from the Byram or Terry Cheer Squads within the past year, you may not try out. *If you have been suspended this year, you may not try out. * Your teacher evaluations, coaches' score, and grade deductions will count as a MAJOR PORTION of your total score. * Cheerleading takes up A LOT of time and costs A LOT of money! |
| What are we looking for? * We will be selecting for the Football and Basketball Squads. The top scores of those trying out for Football who want to be considered will be members of our award winning Competition Squad. * You will receieve a score from the Cheer Coaches each day of clinic. They will be judging on work ethic, potential, tardiness, attitude, and overall impression. * You will be required to do three consecutive jumps (no pauses), a dance, and a cheer. * SPIRIT!!!!! LOTS OF SPIRIT!!!!! * The most important element in cheerleading is sharp, tight motions!!! Start working on them NOW!!!!! * Tumbling will help your score, but you will not be deducted points for not tumbling. |
